Welcome to Blogging!

Hello Students,

Throughout this semester you will be responsible for creating blogs and responding to those of your peers and myself. This blog will be your chance to reflect on and analyze specific texts assigned for this course and issues that come up as we explore the many facets of effective creative writing. For each blog assigned, I will provide prompts or questions to guide your responses.

Every blog must meet the following criteria:
- A minimum of 150 words
- All but the first blogger must respond to another classmate's posting
- Pose a question at the end of your post

I really enjoyed the work shopping experience. I thought that the class did a great job on helping me understand the parts of my poem that were unclear and what were the good parts. When we were work shopping my poem, Ms. Noon mentioned how i used "echoing" in my poem and i would like to learn more about that. Also, how to develop slant rhymes without making them seem forced. I think the more we do work shopping it will be a smoother and less awkward process because i feel like nobody wants to be too critical or negative so not everyone says all that they are thinking. During our revision period i want to focus on taking out a little bit of the original words of Emily Dickinson's poem that i put in there and also creating more imagery. I also want to work on letting my instinct take over and not censoring everything that i write.
